China will impose a 34% tariff on all imports from the US starting April 10
Those percentages were manufactured goods. Conveniently left out the services part where the US enjoys a surplus. -

Fruit for Weight / Diabetes control
Avos are good but expensive. I think almonds are better for energy and bring more filling. Rice and eggs too. Anything with sugar in it isnt much good. -

Now Musk Is Boosting Claims Wisconsin Supreme Court Election Was ‘Stolen’
Actually, I do owe an apology...to phetphet. I don't see any previous claim from him that Musk spent 1 million. I should have known better than to trust your version of the facts. -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)
Just watched episode 7 of the current White Lotus. Whereas the first two seasons were witty and well acted, this, I thought, was utter garbage. Reminded me of those afternoon soap-operas my second ex-wife used to watch, where scene switched to scene monotonously following the latest "development" in someone's "relationship". The only characters who held my interest slightly were the three cougars who had a sexual itch without quite being able to admit it. But perhaps it was their tits (on plentiful show) that made me hesitate to call it quits.. -

America's Astonishing Act of Self-Harm
Originally posted in the Financial Times (link below to non-paywalled archive): "If it endures, Donald Trump’s decision on April 2 2025 to enact sweeping “reciprocal” tariffs on US trade partners will go down as one of the greatest acts of self-harm in American economic history. They will wreak untold damage on households, businesses and financial markets across the world, upending a global economic order that America benefited from and helped to create. and "Trump’s justification hinges on a naive belief that treats trade imbalances as if they were the profit and loss account of a business, and not the culmination of highly specialised supply chains. He also considers factory work to be the fount of economic development, ignoring how decades of free trade has enabled America to rise up the industrial value chain and become a global leader in services and innovation." https://archive.is/Xqq9m
