Yes, my passport is 10 years old also and certainly gave me the runaround when trying to get the facial scan approved. Just the passport photo seemed problematic initially then the facial scan became the next hurdle with “ scan unsuccessful “ message and “ scan doesn’t resemble passport photo “ ( or words to that effect! ). My tips would be: Try outside in daylight Use a plain light coloured background for facial scan. Keep calm and try again.
