Giving 1 star to a restaurant in Muang Kao.

Featured Replies

Funny true story a geezer opened a restaurant in our village and I went there once try to talk to the owner and got blanked, his wife on the other hand was very friendly, the girl staff at the time served me beer and then presented with the bill and the beer was very expensive.

So when google location got on to me and asked to rate where I  had been I gave 1 star and didn't give it another thought.

Some time after that the owner and his wife came and sat in my pub restaurant, there motivation was to find me,  trying be friendly I spoke first to them,  and was asked by his wife if I was the owner of the restaurant I drink in.

No I am friends of the family and then her husband intervened and said said I am trying to ruin his business.

I said no I am just rating it how I found it, with that I was asked to go outside by him and sort it outside in the road and fight.

I just said I  will not fight you are a silly man.

I got up and sat somewhere else and didn't notice they had left.

I went back on Google and edited the 1 star and removed it out of pity.

So if that's happened to anyone here what you do.

Maybe his a Aseannow member that will be fun. ????

The owner not wanting a chat and you not liking the price of the beer sounds like a 3-star issue at worst.

Follow the Golden Rule.

Take a photo of the menu and add it to the menu section of Google Maps. It's very handy for future customers. Let others decide if the mere beer price is so exorbitant that it deserves destroying the restaurant.

If the owner is having a bad day or is too busy or his Mum just died, don't trash the reputation of his restaurant. Running a business can be tough.

Describe your experience; write a review in good faith:

Did the food taste good? Did it arrive quickly? Were the cutlery clean? Was there a good menu selection?

Most people going to a restaurant are not deciding by the beer price. People who do that sit outside of 7/11 drinking Leo.

If the beer price is shocking then perhaps they are trying to deter certain types of customers, such as the village drunk, the disagreeable farang, or the farang disagreeable village drunk, and so on.

The Japanese, makers of better beer than Leo, often say they will 'hansei' (反省), meaning self-reflection. It's a good habit to adopt. And perhaps explains why you rarely see them drinking Leo in front of 7/11; they try hard to get along to make the World better. Constructive criticism, not destructive extremism.

Reflect on your behaviour.

So you have been to the restaurant in question and if you are asked to make a star rating you would fear to do so. ????

Whow ! That's a bit of a deep post are you a mate of his, or you do not understand the casual  approach I took to rate the place the way I saw it right or wrong excepted.

So answer this, does what I did deserve threats after being hunted down or just a hello excuse  me why did you give our restaurant one star.

A fair question. I absolutely don't think threats are acceptable. He clearly could have and should have done things differently.

But again, assume the best. What if he is down to his last penny. What if this is, like Ben One-Kenobi, his last hope? What if you caught him at his very worst?

Don't escalate, don't aggravate. Go back to his restaurant, order another meal, skip the beer, and make amends.

Yeah my mates said that I shouldn't use my real name on Google when giving star ratings.

I'm gonna rate anything any more.

My mates all wanted to know the name of the restaurant to give it one star I said no way.

They have problems enough in the village now because of Thai gossip thats gonna be bad enough.

Fair call again but after what his wife said to my wife when my wife was trying make amends and to talk to her trying to de-escalate the situation that happened in my pub restaurant, that ain't gonna happen.

As I understand it:

You (Kwasaki) own a bar/restaurant.   In your village, someone else opened another bar/restaurant.

You (Kwasaki) decided to visit the new establishment, and having ordered beer (no mention of food) thought that it was 'expensive' and thought it best that you share this information on-line.     Can't quite understand this, as pretty much all 'village' beers are priced within a few baht of each other.

Having thought the beer (again no mention of food) was expensive, you (Kwasaki) decide to go on-line and complain.   Hey, the new bar/restaurant owner comes around to query your complaint and you (Kwasaki) thinks it's a good idea to abuse  him.

You (Kwasaki) need to grow up.   Pathetic.
