Met Dept: Typhoon Nesat to strike Vietnam today

"BANGKOK, 30 September 2011 (NNT) – The Thai Meteorological Department has reported that Typhoon Nesat will make a landfall in Northern Vietnam later today while nine provinces in Thailand will face heavy rains caused by the Southwest monsoon."

This is very unusual, three typhoons in three weeks. Even the Philippines seldom get hit with such frequency, although theirs tend to be much more destructive.
