Daily News Thai Caption: They slept in jail

Bowon Mongkhon police in Bangkok took two women to Taling Chan court yesterday following revelations about a "mad cult" as reported by ASEAN NOW.

Haru, 39, and Tripetchratana, 20, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm along with a long list of offences related to violent abuse and compelling people to commit violent acts..

The victims were named as Phailin, 46, Ploy, 34, and Khai Muk, 48, along with Phailin's children a girl and boy aged 10 and 6 respectively.

Daily News reported that Phailin had met "Haru" who used various names that sounded Korean.

She had been persuaded to move in with her at Suphalai City Resort condo, Building A, in the Rama 8, Bang Phlat area of Bangkok.

Haru had encouraged her to go into a cosmetics business and promised to find a new school for her children. She was persuaded that 4 million baht costs resulted from this.

This later ballooned to 140 million as two other women got hooked into the weird arrangement.

Haru produced the cosmetics and the other ladies were in charge of online sales and outside events.

Offences that allegedly occurred within the last week related to the use of boiling water and assault were detailed in court.

The ladies had not met sales targets to pay off their apparent debt.

No relatives turned up at the court on behalf of Haru to post bail. Bail was denied for her sidekick in the alleged crime Tripetchratana.

Both were remanded in custody.

Haru is a known and convicted fraudster, notes ASEAN NOW.

Disgusting that any criminal can get out if they have money for friends and relatives with it
