lelapin
Every time I start my car and the dashcam becomes operational it states date and time as 01 01 2019 / 00,00.01 . I reset it to the correct setting and it stays correct until I start my next journey. Any ideas why this happens or how to correct it? MJCM
The internal battery of the Dash cam that should keep the time has failed, in a PC it’s called a CMOS battery and is easily changed but no idea for a Dash cam.
worgeordie
It might need a new battery , as it's just like a PC , the CMOS battery that is bad , the date on PC is never current regards worgeordie P.S. just put a new battery in my dash cam , bought it from Aliexpress , but then I found out it was not the battery but the charger , which goes into the cigar lighter , the pin on the end was pushed too far in.so not charging . richard_smith237
As others have pointed out... The Dashcam will have an internal battery which maintains the settings and time etc.. What model of Dash-cam is it ?..... You may be able to open up the dash-cam and change out the battery yourself (it’ll very likely be like a watch battery etc).
