Connecting 2 Laptops Running Xp Pro

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have 2 laptops, both running windows XP Pro. I'm wanting to file share between the 2 of them. Do I need to just buy a network cable and plug and end in each computer?

I use a GPRS PC card in one of them, Is it possible to use the interent on both once they are connected to each other?

Thanks in advance.

You need to get a router too. Hook both computers to it, then run your network setup wizard.

Of course the best way to do this, is by having at least a switch to connect the two computers, but you could do it with a cross-over cable as well. Also you can share your gprs connection thus enabling both computers to run internet, it won't be fast though, and I presume it will cost some money as well.

All you need is a X-over network cable. Plug it into both notebooks and run the Network Setup wizard on both. Run the Internet Connection Sharing wizard to share the Internet connection.
