June 26, 200718 yr Hi all. I have 2 laptops, both running windows XP Pro. I'm wanting to file share between the 2 of them. Do I need to just buy a network cable and plug and end in each computer? I use a GPRS PC card in one of them, Is it possible to use the interent on both once they are connected to each other? Thanks in advance.
June 26, 200718 yr You need to get a router too. Hook both computers to it, then run your network setup wizard.
June 26, 200718 yr Of course the best way to do this, is by having at least a switch to connect the two computers, but you could do it with a cross-over cable as well. Also you can share your gprs connection thus enabling both computers to run internet, it won't be fast though, and I presume it will cost some money as well.

Plug it into both notebooks and run the Network Setup wizard on both. Run the Internet Connection Sharing wizard to share the Internet connection.
