fvw53
We live in Pathum Thani in a condo unit which uses AC the whole day. Since two weeks we have many small black flies in our condo, they are about 1 mm and certainly less than 2 mm My Thai wife says it are fruit flies and that now her sister in Ramintra has a similar problem in her house. I have never seen this in the 30 years I live in the same place. Do other forum members have the same problem and can somebody recommend a solution? The solutions recommended on the internet are all for larger fruit flies. Edited October 22, 2022 by fvw53 typo
brianthainess
Your wife is correct, some people call them vinigar flys. They are attracted to almost any food, fruit (lemons, tomatoes), beer, empty yoghurt pots, that are left out, dish cloths ect. Putting the plug in the sink helps to stop them them around that area. Kenny202
I had tiny little flies in my bathroom, looked all the world like little fruit flies. Only a few mm. Guys on here told me they were drain flies and to pour boiling water down the drain everyday for a week, kills the lavae. May be different in a condo tho. One way to check pull your shower drain insert / filter out and give it a tap, see of any tiny worms come out

Yeah, they're fruit flies. Don't leave any fruit or veg around or in your open waste bin.
