First cruise ship in three years docks in Phuket today

 

The first cruise ship to arrive in Thailand in three years docked at the Patong pier in Phuket today (Monday), to allow about 800 passengers to come ashore for a one-day sightseeing excusion.

10m meth pills seized in Thailand’s Maha Sarakham and Roi Et provinces

Thai police recently seized about 10 million methamphetamine tablets, arrested five suspects and confiscated three vehicles in two separate incidents in the country’s north-eastern provinces.

Former cabinet minister within the government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha, Dr Narumon Pinyosinwat, has raised questions about the country’s economic outlook and data by highlighting a deterioration in the country’s trading account in July and August which saw imports substantially exceed exports.

Former Deputy Minister of Labour warns that a continuation of the current trend with twin deficits would be bad news for the kingdom.

MAVERICK MP Mongkolkit Suksintharanon is following in the footsteps of Thai star Phakin Khamwilaisak, or Tono, whose charity swim across the Mekong river to Laos and back raised 56 million baht for two hospitals by gearing up to swim across the Chao Phraya river to raise money for flood victims, TV Channel 7 said Monday (Oct. 24).

Thai Police hunt for alleged real owner of raided Club One Pattaya, eye 5-year closure

Study shows 13.4% of psychiatric patients commit repeated acts of violence

About 13.4% of 3,815 psychiatric patients in Thailand were found to have committed acts of violence repeatedly, which means that members of the public need to help to keep an eye on their behaviour, according to Dr. Chumphot Phromsida, deputy director-general of the Department of Mental Health.

OVER 50 Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) policemen in southern Trang province are hunting for one of their men after he shot dead a customer and injured two others during a pub fight in the wee hours of this morning (Oct. 25), Matichon newspaper said.
