Pattaya — The real owner of the raided CLUB ONE PATTAYA is believed by Pattaya police to be a Chinese national with a long criminal record, while the deputy inspector general of the Royal Thai Police said he is planning to enforce a 5-year closure on the venue.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Panurat Lakboon, Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police, chaired a meeting with Police Region 2 and Pattaya police around noon today, October 24th, to discuss a contentious incident where more than 200 patrons at CLUB ONE PATTAYA were able to escape an inspection after some were reportedly being found to have taken illegal drugs.

As for the pub, Pol. Lt. Gen. Panurat would collect evidence to draft prosecution to propose to the Chonburi Governor in order to forcefully shut the venue for five years.

They need Big Joke back to look after all the little jokes they call the RTP

Shouldn't this be the final straw for the current Pattaya police chief? Didn't he recently return from reassignment after that poor girl "fell" from a 7th floor condo. Now this. Oh, wait, this is Thailand. Announcement of a new police crackdown on after-hours venues pending.

Or another look at it - closing it due to a chinese national using it as a criminal enterprise !

Yes, and we all know that is a reserved occupation for the B.I.B.

Yes we don't want any kids enjoying themselves for 5 years better to hunt down a probably fake Chinese owner in this very fishy story of lost income ????

5-year closure?

So this Chinese national wouldn't think of reopening it under a different name or anything like that?

A Club in Thailand surely has to be in a Thai name ...or are they waiting to see  who the Thai is ?

The place was busted for late opening earlier this year when it was called Bone. It should have been closed down then, in theory.

They have changed to their current name only in the last couple of weeks.

At a minimum, it looks like this club has emergency escape doors!

Could possibly be across the border by now with other Chinese mafia pals in Sihanoukville, Poipet or Phnom Penh.

What makes you think he lives in Thailand?

Don’t they already know which BIB or MP owns it?

I don't believe a word of it. Just another bar owner who has not doshed enough tea money to the RTP. Both shameful and pathetic at one and the same time.

Roll out the smart car!

Yes 5 years ban. That will stop him and others from opening another club elsewhere. Hilarious suggestion!!

He obviously forgot to pay his weekly payment to his local stand over man and the boys in brown didn't get their cut.

Without due process via the Thai legal process?

He clearly doesn’t understand the legal system. That’s probably the same reason he has been promoted all these years.

Good thing there were no locked exit doors! Seriously, shut down the club for staying open late?

It’s all corruption. Surly they can find out who owns the place ? And why does a new club/ business be allowed to get away with * front* names ? Aren’t there laws at all ?

Local plod just taking money from the manager each month... not interested in the owner?

Agree with a number of posters above; Plod got a bloody nose when customers rolled over them. Chief is now stamping his petulant feet and raised the price of protection money.

He has already experience in that

Before, that Club was called “Bone Club” and was closed, as far as I remember,  also for 5 years.

It then re-emerged again as One Club.

I assume, the next name will be “Ne Club”:

… Bone Club - (B)one Club - (Bo)ne Club … ????
