Muang Udon Thani police in the NE of Thailand were called after a member of the public found a dead man in a sugar cane field.

It happened in Na Dee sub-district on the Udon to Nongbualamphu Road.

Ten meters into the field was a 40-50 year old Thai male with no ID, reported Siam Rath.

There were no injuries to the body or signs of struggle.

The body was taken to Udon Thani medical center.

The member of the public who called the police was not waiting to give evidence and will be sought for further questioning.

Police believe that the man was from out of town and had died and then been brought there.
