Paypal for expatt

Featured Replies

I'm Belgian, I live in Thailand. I've had a PayPal account linked to a bank account in Singapore for many years. Now I've just received a notification from PayPal that seems to indicate that with an address in Thailand my account will be terminated on 30 November as I've no Thai ID.

Is that right?

Sure is.

Plenty of info on this in the banking forum.

Its been discussed many times.

100% right, you can no longer use or have a Thai address. As for myself, I have a PayPal account (USA) and I use my USA address. This way I can use it and not lose it...

Closed both my Thai and UK PayPal accounts. No need for their nonsense. In the last 9 months, not missed PP at all. Good riddance!

When you fall out of the deemed normal boxes, things happen.

I pay for a subscription to watch baseball games in Thailand. There are no blackout dates as there are no local games. This is my 5th or 6th season watching the games. They decided to close me out of the games because the CC I used to pay for the season has a billing address in USA???

The customer service rep said he knows these games are important to me, I said 'no they are not-they are games - I just want what I paid for.'

sometimes life gets annoying.
