60 day tourist Visa, probably extend and stay 82 days, are there health insurance requirements?

Greetings all, this website is fantastic.  I have 60 day tourist Visa which I will extend for 30 days if I don't do side trip to Malaysia. Are there any health insurance requirements that I might need to prove at airport here in USA or in Thailand? If so what are the amount of insurance requirements? Also, does anyone here know if Malaysia has dropped their insurance requirement that they had?  Thanks for your help,   Dwayne

There is no requirement for insurance for Thailand.

 

Don't know about Malaysia although I see no mention of it being required on the IATA travel map.

Don't be such a cheap charlie and expect the Thai system to pick up your tab if you get sick or injured.

There may be no requirement but it shows you have little respect for the people/country you plan to holiday.

I get mine every time, not used it as yet but it is certainly reassuring to know it is there if and when required.

Good work that you obtain travel insurance.

Think most are aware of their options. No need for the big brother comment.

The OP was asking about health insurance requirements to cross state borders, NOT travel insurance. The Thai health system won't pick up the tab if you have no insurance, he's no 'cheap charlie'. You have no idea if the Op has taken out travel insurance. Don't assume .

 

Travel insurance is optional and a good idea to have when one travels.
