COVID-19 infections in Thailand appear to be on the rise again, especially among those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, while daily infection and death rates averaged 394 and 5 respectively from October 30th to November 5th.

According to the COVID-19 Information Centre of the Public Relations Department, there were 2,759 cases hospitalized and 40 deaths between October 30th and November 5th.

Since January 1st, there have been 2,471,772 infections which required treatment in hospitals and 11,297 fatalities.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manoon Leechawengwongs, an expert in respiratory diseases at Vichaiyut Hospital, said Monday that they have been monitoring respiratory diseases resulting from COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) and found that COVID-19 infections, identified using rapid antigen and RT-PCR tests, appeared to be on the rise in October.

Most vaxxed ppl that I know have had Covid already.(afterwards)

One of them, (Thai woman), developed myocarditis after the 'v' and a few weeks later lost her mind.

I had mild Covid myself, in the early months.

Never took the 'v'

Too many questions still un-answered about the origin of this disease and the efficacy of vaccines imo

Bat soup?....????????

It seems like all the people who are vaccinated if they do catch it it’s a very mild thing last thing a few days but yet after millions have received the vaccination there’s still people out there who refuse to get the vaccine TIT

Reading from the chinese book of Sun Tzu

Create panic and take control from people as we have done in China. Thailand need to implement a forever premier like Xi Xi Xi.....Pi Pi Pi.....

This is a nothing burger. The subsequent variants are getting weaker and weaker.

The numbers in Thailand are far below what you would normally see from the flu.

I got it. It was like a mild flu. Let's move on.

100% chance this is total B.S. These so-called vaccines do nothing to prevent transmission and this is now public and well known information outside of the 3rd world. Sounds like Thailand is stealing US media talking points from January 2021.

Thailand didn’t get the memo - the new emergency is climate change…

Had 4 shots now, still got covid, however, was mild and lasted only two days. Masks wont stop it completely, just as important to regularly santise hands, something people seem to forget.

The vaccines prevent you from getting seriously sick.  Not really prevent you from getting it.  And keep in mind.  The Moderna boosters in Thailand.  They are generation one type.  Not the newest that protects against Omicron and the latest variants.
The number of hospitalizations and serious illness are way down.  Due to the vaccines.
And the question is.  Are people who say “ Oh they had symptoms and it was nothing “.  Did they get tested and actually have Covid?   Or did they have the flu or viral infection?   Thinking they had Covid?
And I find the people that are not vaccinated or downplay the vaccine .  If they test positive and have serious symptoms or are hospitalized.  They whine about how they should have gotten vaccinated.

Don't like my graphs?  How about OWID/Johns Hopkins?  (They are identical to mine - same data and same smoothing.

I noticed a while ago that cardiology in BPH was more crowded than ever. Anyone here who developed heart problems after the shots?

But what, precisely, is "fully vaccinated"? Since the efficacy of the vaccine boosters in terms of time protected varies wildly from vaccine to vaccine and person to person. Plus, as many have said, it won't stop you catching Covid, or spreading it (much like the masks). So, is 5 boosters fully vaccinated? what about in 4 months time? Will 6 boosters be?

I'm sure the rise in cases is due to people smoking weed.

You said "i wore my mask in the airport and on the plane home. still caught something " as if a mask will give protection against an airborne virus , sorry but it does not . The mask will stop your projectiles from coughs and sneezes from hitting others but that is about it

This post is about all those hospitalizations re covid and suggests more to me than scaremongering and that there are probably many  more infected out there than the zero being stated in the Bangkok Post every day. It also suggests that if we believe that covid is a mild flu, that for some it is a lot more serious.

I therefore support this post and that it is justified in alerting us that covid has not gone away. It may be a blip, who knows?

How is it TIT (this is Thailand)? There are millions of people around the world that refuse to get the vaccine.

Funny story as it is proven that the V only works for max 6 months and many people got the shot way back in time.

All the people I know that are "fully vaccinated" are getting Covid

3 so far this week, 2 ladies have had it before, the Man has never had it before, his Daughter came home with it and he has now got it, conformed Tuesday ALL have had there booster shots so "fully vaccinated"

Me cannot have the Vaccine so if I ever get it will have to put up with it [or die in my 70's anyway]

Moderna and Pfizer have their up-to-date bivalent vaccines called Moderna/Spikevax and Pfizer's Comirnaty respectively which will provide better protection against newer Covid-19 variants including Omicron. Singapore MOH has approved both vaccines and made available to the population. I called up a private hospital in Bangkok to enquire of their availability and was told that they were non available at the present moment. Perhaps pending approval. Hope both new vaccines will be available soon.
