The Thai Energy Ministry is eyeing to forcefully mandate an electricity-saving campaign for households and businesses such as shopping malls, gas stations, or nightlife venues, to battle the rising prices of liquefied natural gas (LNG) used in national power generation.

30,000 police deployed for APEC Summit in Bangkok

600m Of 1.6 Billion Baht Needed To Buy World Cup 2022 Broadcast Rights Approved

THE National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) has approved 600 million baht budget for Sports Authority of Thailand to buy broadcasting rights to Fifa World Cup 2022 being held in Qatar from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18 but this does not cover the full cost of 1.6 billion.

Fort Thanarat – A Serious Army Base, But That’s No All

Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Camp Thanarat is based on about 600,000 hectares of land, just before Pranburi town with the entrance on the western side of Phetchakasim Road. The base is home to around 5,000 soldiers but with their families included there is something like 20,000 people living in a small town with schools, a hospital and markets.

Bangkok taxi fares set to go up - will be rubber stamped by minister within two weeks

Bangkok road closures for APEC leaders’ motorcade protection drills

Thailand’s central bank to introduce rules to limit bank system outages

The Bank of Thailand (BoT) is to issue a new regulation which seeks to put a time limit on commercial banks’ mobile banking app outages, to ease the impacts on customers, according to Kitti Kosavisutte, committee chairman of the Thailand Banking Sector Computer Emergency Response Team (TB-CERT).

Immigration police launch e-Extension system for online visa extension

BANGKOK (NNT) - Apart from tourism purposes, a significant number of foreigners enter Thailand for work, study, or long-term stay. This group of foreigners has had to get their visa extended every 3 months or 1 year and need to visit the immigration office each time. An improvement to the visa extension procedure has now been made so these individuals can file for an extension online using just 3 minutes of their time. The system test carried out in October was a success and the system proved to be functional.
