nera123
Has anyone ever experienced changing jobs with WP and non-B visa? Eager to change employers, but the procedure seems delicate! I read that you have to cancel the WP and visa, ask for a 7-day extension and at the same time apply for a new visa and WP with the new employer when leaving the country.. Is it right? Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you for sharing your experience...
ubonjoe
You can change jobs without leaving the country with cooperation of both employers. You will need a termination lotter from your current employer then by the date on it you would go to immigration to cancel your current extension and then apply for the new extension with supporting documents from you new employer. The new employer would apply for new work permit to get a application approval letter and then after you have your new extension your new work permit would be issued when your current one is canceled.
nera123
Hi Ubonjoe, Thank you for your answer. I do not have an extension! just a non B for 90 days which I have to renew outside the country every 90 days. It's seem to be a bit more tricky !! ???? But Than you anyway.. ubonjoe
If you have a non-b visa you do not need to do cancel your 90 day stay it allows. Immigration does not cancel visas. Just leave the country with paperwork to apply for a new non-b on or before the day you current permit to stay ends. No problem to have your work permit canceled before leaving. You will need a work permit application approval letter at most embassies and consulates to apply for a non-b visa.
