Thai police acting on information they called "Big Data" intercepted a three vehicle convoy transporting drugs along the Saraburi to Lomsak Road in central Thailand on Saturday.

Nine Thais mostly in their twenties were arrested including a 20 year old woman.

Drugs had arrived from a neighboring country and were being delivered to the central region.

The gang were known as the Phom Thong gang - blondies.

They had a front lookout vehicle, a vehicle carrying the drugs and a third following behind.

In the drug vehicle 2.2 million yaba pills of the Y1 and 999 brand were seized along with Erimin 5, a Class 2 drug in the amount of 40,000 pills.

The arrests were made at KM marker 9 in Lopburi.

Nine phones were taken into evidence.

The suspects were all charged with possessing Class 1 and Class 2 narcotics with intent to sell.

The police were acting on orders that came down from the Thai PM and the head of the RTP, said Thai Rath

Yep, that is the way to remain below the radar.

Why not do the bust because it's the right thing to do...why state that the bust is in response to a request from the senior RTP and the PM. It makes one wonder if the bust might have been orchestrated to appease the "bosses".

It wouldn't surprise me of the blonde gang were carrying a batch of yabba which was intended to make certain police look good.
