Notify chiang mai immigration if travel to another province

Hi everybody, is it true that, in  order to travel to another province from chiang mai, you must notify immigration 3 days in advance?

And if yes, where the notification is done?

OP, there is a rumor regarding ED visa. Cannot be true.

You can go anywhere you want including exit and reenter Thailand. 

Don't need to notify anyone.

You mention retirement visa.

I assume that you are in extensions from a non O or O-A.

If you renter with reentry permit then do nothing .
