None, but danger to society does not exclusively mean that someone can OD on a substance. There's lots of other ways a drug can be a danger to society. In my opinion none of those apply to cannabis, though.

Exactly, that's the logic of liberalisation of soft drugs and strongly opposing hard ones that really demage people.

Pathetic. massive problems with alcohol abuse but they don't think its a danger to society.

They just can't stand to think that others are enjoying themselves doing things differently.

Unfortunately , if Anutin falls , weed will lose its unlikely champion and a crack down will follow so enjoy it while you can.

Alcohol is not the topic under discussion... so no need to divert.

Thailand appears to have got ahead of itself here.. and I really don't see them getting this genie back in the bottle. Might as well get going with a taxation structure.

Have these MP's got nothing better to do? Like using as much effort to get the gov. to police the traffic laws better. When I drive by the local market I'm more likely to get crushed by one of the number of overloaded pickups than I am through someone smoking 'weed'...unless,of course, the pickups are overloaded with 'weed' ????.

But the micro-brewers of quality beers are held back while Lao kao is somd day or night and the big beers kill dozens every week.

the number of deaths from marajaba is lower by far than those who start to drive with no training and just Jill themselves inadvertently.

this is trying to shove a spike in Anutins pre election popularity and some older guys knee jerk reactionary attitude.
the cat is out of the bag, cows in the corn and billions invested to serve a willing market.
And anecdotal problems are counted on your fingers, not anything like alcohols extinction numbers.

give it a rest And find another attack in Anutin, this is about the only thing he got right.

But did he get it right. It was rolled out without the teeth it needed, they then back tracked again to add some teeth to the rules, but still it needed to be tweaked some more.  Thailand rolls out programs all of the time and then backtracks on them little by little until it only Applies to a few.  That's what they are trying to do here. Recreational use was never written into the law now for all to use, except those with medical needs now wasn't it? Yet many took it that far and all use it openly, which is not how the law was written.

Why not do what they've done for alcohol and tobacco and make weed for over 18s only? (Except in medical cases).

Ciggies cause cancer and emphasima and definitely kill. No medicinal properties at all. Alcohol causes negative effects on families. The government hasn't done a lot to stop people driving drunk or beating up the wife. Cannabis makes you hungry. That's it.

The government could make a lot of revenue by taxing cannabis without killing anyone. I even have a slogan prepared:

Only tote if you can vote.

They already have but they were wise enough to set the bar higher, at 20 years old.

Only tote if you can vote.

Do you know the mental age of the average voter in Thailand? ????

I think a lot of people have now forgotten that Anutin has put his foot in his mouth many times, in addition to his anti farang comments in the past. His reasons for promoting weed are twofold - one to make him a multi millionaire rather than just a common millionaire, and secondly to put himself over as the "good guy" politician that understands young people and their "hopes and dreams" in the run up to the next election. God/Buddha forbid that this clown becomes PM!

I don’t do any type of drug but this particular plant has helps 100 of 1,000s who suffer with certain illnesses as well as that millions have been invested by Thais in opening shops and purchasing stock is the government going to compensate these poor souls for investments lost if they decide to declare that they have reversed there decisions . This government has become the laughing stock for constantly ending up with egg on there faces . It’s a pity they can’t spend more time trying to stop the amount of people killed and injured on the roads

I agree with your post, and it's just another example of this Government being the "Hub of Turnarounds". Regarding your last sentence, this has been said many times before. Unfortunately, there will be nothing done regarding that particular situation until the RTP actually do the job that they are supposed to do, and that will not happen due to the pathetically low wages that they are paid, which in part has led to the level of corruption that can be seen from top to bottom in that  particular organisation.

Be it on their heads if this comes to pass. A LOT of people have invested heavily. One of the worst aspects of humanity: people telling other people not to do something. Meanwhile, people are dying daily from alcoholism.

Don't forget the tobacco... available at any 7/11

Shouldn't have all this been thought thru thoroughly before they decriminalized it?????

Of course, but that would would have meant a few dozen more committee meetings, and Anutin wouldn't have had time to oversee them as he was too intent on planning his future finances!

More ganja smoked less beer sold.
Gee, wonder who’s financing the push-back???

The number of deaths from marijuana is significantly lower by far than those who start to drive with no training and just kill themselves inadvertently. And then add booze.

This is trying to shove a spike in Anutin’s pre election popularity and some older guys knee jerk reactionary attitude. And push back on lower booze sales.

The cat is out of the bag, cows in the corn, horse out grazing, and billions already invested to serve a very willing market.

Give it a rest, and find another attack point on Anutin, this is about the only thing he got right.

You are totally correct in your last sentence, and IMHO (as I have said in another post) there are 2 reasons for this - to make himself more money and to promote himself as the "good  guy" in the run up to the (eventual) election.
