Social Media Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 According to one story we are destined to enter WW3 in March 2023 ! Read full article According to numerous Tiktoks we are being invaded by Time travellers all from various future dates all with stories of doom n gloom ! next year So whats with all this "end of the world " obsession ? Or is it just too much time and active imaginations at work ?
Popular Post CelticBhoy Posted November 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 23, 2022 Bit more specific please. March 2023 isn't very precise. I usually order in a crate of Guinness for St.Patrick's Day on the 17th. If it's after the 17th then fine, but before that would be a right waste of stout. ???? 5

Clearly the tiktok crowd isn't very bright. 4 1 1 1

nigelforbes Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 What are we supposed to do between now and March, surely there's somewhere that needs invading! 1 1
Popular Post GammaGlobulin Posted November 27, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2022 There are real threats. And there are imaginary threats. Most people prefer to divert their attention from real existential threats through ideation involving imaginary apocalyptic threats. We now have access to a very authoritative study which seems to show that there has been a dramatic rise in cancer rates since 1990. This study was recently reported in some Harvard journal rag. In addition, we now have at least five nations vying to exploit oil and gas deposits under the arctic ice, just as soon as the ice melts enough to allow shipping to transport these fuels. We are now at over 420 ppm of atmospheric CO2, but the rate of use of carbon-based energy continues to climb each year, with no plateau in sight. Thank God we are carbon-based life forms. Obviously, there is no need to resort to belief in whacko stories in the Sun if we can just be satisfied with reading facts in peer-reviewed journals that should scare us to death. Unfortunately, most people don't have enough education to read science journals with decent comprehension. They also are not qualified to judge the rapidity of the huge changes, and the momentum of these changes, which have been put in motion through human intervention during the past 80 years. Years ago, we young guys used to laugh at the occasional New Yorker cartoons showing men in robes carrying signs stating End of the World is Nigh. But, 55 years later, who's laughing now? It's not just the dire present-day circumstance in which we find ourselves which is so unsettling. Rather it is our total inability to make any positive changes which freaks us out. As of this moment, it's still peddle to the metal. No change. We are in a race to our own oblivion. Thankfully, however, Gaia does not care. 2 1
Photoguy21 Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 They said the world was going to end when the first comet was sighted several centuries ago. 2

Old Croc Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Forget the mindless idiots on Tik Tok, with their shuffling and bottle flips, also the believers of ludicrous theories. There is a very real threat of a world war starting next year. It has already partially commenced through the actions of an ex-KGB dwarf with visions of restoring ancient soviet kingdoms and achieving personal czardom. He believes the enemy to be Europe, or more specifically NATO, and has convinced many in Russia that their very existence is under threat. Even if the little man himself doesn't survive for much longer, powerful, secretive Russian intelligence agencies are behind this desire to conquer neighboring countries to create a buffer from their enemy. It's been proven Russia can't win a conventional war with its outdated and run-down military capability, but there are people there who will go nuclear. when all else fails. 1

Or a list of those that he believes to be such, with no requirement of factual accuracy. Belief is more important than truth, in the post-truth world, and one cannot argue with someone until you know their beliefs, as we no longer share a common basis of facts. 2

Emotion is more important than logic. Emotion trumps truth, every time. This is just one more reason why Dylan is so bad for society. Dylan was an idiot, and still is, of course. Nobody has ever sung about the Scientific Method. All that Dylan ever sang about was just.... Getting hard. But, if Dylan really cared about the world, he would not have been singing about getting hard. Instead, he would have been singing about the Keeling Curve, and outgassing of methane from the tundra. Dylan, even back in 1964, was such a sycophantic rooster, totally ignorant of science, which is the only thing that will ever save us, if applied in the right way. Dylan was always an intolerable nitwit.
