THE Fédération Internationale de Football Association  (Fifa) today (Nov. 23) threatened to cut off the live broadcast of World Cup 2022 knockout stage matches.

 

They begin on Dec. 3 and ends on Dec. 18 with the final match after it discovered licence infringement with signals spreading from Thailand to other countries, Thai Rath newspaper said.

 

Fifa warned Thailand to urgently fix this leak to other countries or else it will halt the live broadcast which would prevent Thai football fans from watching the biggest global football tournament.

Time for a mass resignation at FIFA. First, corruptly selecting Qatar, then the human rights issues and now this. Intolerable.

Many Laotians want a flutter on the matches too? After all the whole football thing is about gambling isn't it?

Poor righteous Qataris wanted to host the cup in their Muslim state and then realized alcohol is important to fans. Now gambling. Whatever next?

Yeah, nah. Football is about sport and not gambling. Gambling corrupts and demeans any sport.

FIFA cannot lecture anyone over anything. They are corrupt beyond the boundaries of the imagination. Go Thailand.

But they still got caught out. The problem arises if Thailand is receiving money from the "Leak". Especially with the no refunds in place,, lol.

There was a debate about this many years ago. It was said that one of the reasons that gambling on EPL games was so popular in SE Asia was because the games are at least perceived to be not 'fixed'.

True enough... in an environment where all else is! They used to televise the lottery with a live spinning disc program.... that got stopped!

kinda funny really when you think most people with a bit of anything between their ears can watch it free and live on any  pirate sport site on. the net

Not sure of the veracity of this, but apparently there used to be a "Cold-Balls Lottery" in Thailand. That's where the 6 'winning' balls have been placed in the freezer for a few hours before being added to the main set of balls (whilst no one was looking). ???? Then a blindfolded man (not wearing white gloves) picks out said 'winning' balls!????

FIFA!? I can’t believe it! That Sepp Butty was a stalwart of an honourable cat. Having said that, the sooner it’s all put back under control of the England the better. Well it’s our game after all. ????

I would bet that it is not just Thailand. How many try to make money from this FIFA corruption, lots of countries do it.

Good story, would not put anything past them. 

It is time for various football associations to leave FIFA and form a new world body.
How can it be fair, one country one vote, which means a banana republic in Africa of, say, 2 million people, having the same say as England, France, US, etc. There has to be a different system.

Watched 2 games so far and found them both entertaining.....

They can huff and puff all the want - they can't actually cut any progamming, not without facing some pretty big lawsuits.  If they did, they'd be in breach of contract to all the sponsors that have paid millions to have their names splashed all over the pitches etc.
