Tory peer Michelle Mone and her children reportedly raked in a thumping £29 million from Covid-19 personal protective equipment (PPE) contracts.

After recommending PPE Medpro for £203,000,000 worth of contracts, it was placed on the ‘VIP lane’ that has faced claims that it prioritised companies with ties to the Tory party.

According to documents seen by the Guardian, tens of millions of pounds of the manufacturer’s profits were crammed into an offshore trust that Mone and her adult children benefited from.

And, of course, this was just one instance among many of Conservative lowlifes battening off the illicit awarding of contract to those connected to the Tories.

Not only has this Tory Peer pocketed £29,000,000 in profits paid offshore, but the profits arise from the delivery of PPE that was not fit for purpose, the actual bill to tax payers was hundreds of millions of pounds, with nothing useful obtained in return.

 

And it gets worse.

 

These hundreds of millions wasted on PPE supplied by a chum of Gove on Government orders was marked down as ‘NHS Budget’.

 

 

Tory sleaze, lies and the Tory Chumocracy in full flow, while medical staff were getting sick and dying through a lack of suitable PPE.

 

 

Tory greed and corruption at it's very best. Grabbing what they can before abandoning the sinking Brexit ship that is the UK.

Indefensible, even as a non voting conservative,  I agree it’s absolutely wrong. Supports my position in not voting, but also proves my stance in not voting Labour either as we obviously will never know if the same situation would have arisen if Labour had been in power.

 

Given that the Conservative party are more likely to have a leaning towards business it makes sense they had ‘friends’ that were in business. Doesn’t matter if that is wrong, it’s going to be a fact of life.

 

There were many issues around the decisions made to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic. Personally I would have hoped there would have been a greater cohesive policy created and managed by the WHO rather than individual governments that ended up confusing the issue with their divergent opinions and restrictions.

 

Back to the op, I’ll side with the ‘it was morally wrong’.

Quite the contrary, I’ve successfully managed to have full employment, better myself, help others and have a meaningful life without the nonsense that 1 party is all good and can never do anything wrong and the other party is immediately wrong in every decision or action they take. It must be a sad life for someone that goes into fits of depression whenever a decision by the party they don’t support slaps 2 pence on a pint of beer.

 

It’s your choice if you want to wake up every morning of your life when your preferred party isn’t in power and live the day in mourning.

At your (condescending) suggestion, I referred to the top of the thread to find an indication of the topic, and what I found was a mention of one specific person who engaged in corruption, which you expanded to include her whole political party - which, strictly speaking, is beyond the topic of this discussion. You did this because she is from the party that you do not like. I then expanded the topic somewhat to suggest that there are corrupt politicians in every political party. Do you - or do you not - agree with that point?
