In the US now, likely 25%, in real practical numbers, not fake govt. figures.

Where did you pluck those figures from?

Real life. I go back three times a year. The price increases are stunning. Don't believe the nonsensical data. It is very fake. Real life is more about truth.

My one bed ground floor condo rent in Pratamnak area went from 5500 pm to 8000 pm, but that's mostly due to seasonal adjustments, influx of returners etc, plus post COVID catch up, which kept rents low everywhere, I believe. Golden era, COVID. We never had it so good! E20 is about 33 pl. Agree meat prices soaring. Fruit market prices fairly stable I think. Avocados still at 70-120 THB per kilo depending on quality. Strawberry season just round the corner. Shouldn't quote for this, but girls steady at 1200-3000 on Thai friendly. YMMV! What's in your shopping trolley? ????

Really great info!  Thanks!!!

It's fortunate that expats/Thais reply about groceries & rent, so I have learned what I needed: meat prices are up a lot, open markets are still the best place for fruits & vegetables. In the past I bought raw chicken at Lotus express; might have to eat more tofu & beans. BTW: nowhere else do people discuss prices using public markets. Thank you all very much.

Chicken is still a fair bit cheaper than pork. A full pork tenderloin at Tops is about 200 baht, a large chicken breast is 60 baht.

If you want cheap protein, IMO nothing beats eggs.
