"Old-fashioned" father attacks daughter and chains her up - "you must return to your husband"

Sanook reported the latest action by the social media group in northern Bangkok called "Sai Mai Tong Rort".

 

The group's founder Ekkaphop Leuangprasert and his team were called by a concerned member of the public to a property in Soi Tohku, Nong Jork, where they found a 28 year old woman attached to a large chain on her left ankle.

 

She was exhausted and had suffered facial bruising and a cut lip.

 

This had been done by her father who wanted her to return to her husband and two children.

He was angered after she broke up from a nine year relationship six months ago and refused to return to her husband. 

 

The spark was when the daughter started a new relationship with another man. 

 

She explained that her husband was a philanderer who had relationships with lots of other women and even told his mates about it. They told her.

 

He even slept with a woman while she was pregnant with her second child.

 

Her father, who she described as an old fashioned man, said that marriage was marriage and she must return to him no matter what.

 

 

He was worried about losing face in front of neighbors.

 

She went back but things didn't improve and then six months ago wanted a divorce.

 

He refused to sign the papers and she left to live alone.

 

She got a new lover.

 

When her father found out he attacked her and chained her up and told the husband to come and get her. 

 

While the father was out she contacted a friend who got help from Sai Mai Tong Rort.

 

No police action was mentioned in the story.

 

The media just reported that the father was told by the social media group that what he did was wrong.

Are Thai women somehow lacking DNA for maternal instinct towards their kids? It seems so. It's forking sad to see how the kid's are treated.

This so called father should be dealt with very, very harshly. If not by the law (which is very unlikely), by the daughter. Sometime, parents need to be educated, and sometimes it is not necessarily a pretty thing to witness. Some parents are truly clueless. And old fashioned is no excuse. It just means this fool is locked up in a box of conventionality, and mindlessness.

Nothing in this story suggests the kids were treated badly, but Hey carry on victim blaming.

It was her husband and father that were abusive to HER !

Its forking sad how YOU think women should be treated.

She shouldn't have taken the kids with her if the household was dangerous? I think she should have. It's her job to protect them but she left.
