Another panel will be set up to consider disciplinary action against Rutchada Suriyakul Na Ayutya, director-general of the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, who is currently facing bribery charges.

Laughable 5 Mill in a backpack, all assets should be frozen pending a criminal investigation.

Why do they need a panel, surely it should involve the NACC doing a criminal investigation.

This will be swept under the carpet, too many other dominoes could fall.

The minister also warned that any individual or organisation which states or even implies that he was involved in the bribery scam will be sued for defamation.

Now why would he need to state this?

So no criminal charges will be levied only a sharing out of (some of) his assets!

These are the people who are meant to be in the front line against te illegal trade in wildlife and the conservation of Thailand's natural resources - what other kinds of bribes are they likely to accept of give?
