Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha formally joined the United Thai Nation (Ruam Thai Sang Chart) Party on Monday, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

In addition to key members, led by party leader Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, other well-known figures present were former Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang, Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai, Democrat MP Rangsima Rodrasamee and former Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin, who has resigned from the Palang Pracharath Party and as an MP.

Prayut arrived at the convention centre in his private car, without his usual security team, at about 5.24pm. He was received by Pirapan and key party members and led to the reception hall, where he applied for party membership and paid the 2,000 baht life membership fee. He was then helped by Pirapan to put on a party jacket.

No time to rule the country decently, but too busy with staying in power as we noticed the latest restrictions flipflop over the tourists...Election are not here yet.

He looks so unhappy.

Or is it bored?

Given his track record of achieving nothing what valuable contribution (for all Thai people) does this party expect from him?

Or perhaps I got that wrong, perhaps it's about improving chances at the trough for the members of this party?

The latter.

All they expect is access to tax payers money. Goals for improving the living situation for all Thais do not play a role.

A has-been of a PM joining a motley crew.. I wonder why they look so happy after signing him on and any chance of winning away.

This will fundamentally change and improve the whole nature of political progress in the kingdom of Thailand..........

Agree, and if there's a fee to retire I'm sure 50 million Thai folks and several hundred foreigner will quickly contribute.
