Scott Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 A six-year-old child used his mother's legally purchased handgun to shoot his teacher at a US school, police say. In a news conference on Monday, police in Virginia said the child brought the pistol to school in his backpack. The child intentionally shot his teacher, Abigail 'Abby' Zwerner, during class on Friday. Police say she managed to escort her students to safety before calling for help for herself. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64210387

The gun would still be laying where the mother put it otherwise.
riclag Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Millions and millions of guns owned legally by millions of Americans! Whats the chances of a 6 year old finding her parents gun unsecured! That parent broke the law by not securing their gun and should be held responsible! Gun trigger locks work for the most part only when they are used and installed properly! Unfortunately there is very little facts about this very unusual event. "In no way do I believe we were fully prepared for a 6-year-old to bring a weapon to school and shoot his teacher," Parker said https://www.cbsnews.com/news/6-year-old-who-shot-teacher-abigail-zwerner-mothers-gun-newport-news-virginia-police-say

Yeah right...sure. It is fairly common not to identify children of this age accused of crimes. More likely than conspiracy theory fears or claims about imagined cancelling... 2

Not as uncommon as you may think. Here's another case from yesterday, luckily this time nobody was injured. "The mayor added: "I appreciate the quick action taken by the Beech Grove Police Department to secure the small child and the gun in question." Father arrested on live TV after toddler seen waving a loaded handgun outside their apartment A father has been arrested after a toddler was seen holding a loaded handgun outside their apartment in Indiana. Footage from a neighbour's security camera had shown the toddler holding the pistol in the hallway of the complex in the city of Beech Grove and at one point pulling the trigger. https://news.sky.com/story/father-arrested-on-live-tv-after-toddler-seen-waving-a-loaded-handgun-outside-their-apartment-12788446 Edited January 17, 2023 by Bkk Brian
