Scott Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its 11th month, US and Ukrainian officials tell CNN that Russia’s artillery fire is down dramatically from its wartime high, in some places by as much as 75%. US and Ukrainian officials don’t yet have a clear or singular explanation. Russia may be rationing artillery rounds due to low supplies, or it could be part of a broader reassessment of tactics in the face of successful Ukrainian offenses. Either way, the striking decline in artillery fire is further evidence of Russia’s increasingly weak position on the battlefield nearly a year into its invasion, US and Ukrainian officials told CNN. https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/10/politics/russian-artillery-fire-down-75-percent-ukraine/index.html
Tug Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I’m concerned they may be stockpiling for a spring offensive ,I’d be absolutely delighted to be wrong about it.hopefully it’s because they are bankrupt 1
Popular Post tgw Posted January 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 10, 2023 funny shutterstock photo in the opening post. T-54 and WW2 style airplanes, oh well. Ruzzia's position on the battlefield is currently not weak, as they just took Soledar, north of Bakhmut, and have been progressing on the whole Donetsk frontline, from Vuhledar to Kreminna, and I suspect there is a Ruzzian offensive breaking out of Kreminna as well. They are probably low on shells though. Ukraine needs all the help it can get. 3
