Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to take over the investigation into President Joe Biden's potential mishandling of classified documents.

The special counsel is Robert Hur.

The appointment is a major moment for Biden, who has mostly been able to steer clear of legal problems during his time in the White House.

Hmm, Biden was a VP and had no clear right to retain classified government docs after leaving office, especially leaving them in insecure locations such as an office, or locked closet at the U of Penn think tank office. Additional doc stashes are now being reported by the DOJ to be stored in the garage of Biden's personal residence in Delaware. Careless, maybe, nefarious, needs to be determined. Biden needs to account for this and if culpable he should  be behind the pipes soon, as in jail. What a mess.

Did you miss the bit about it already being under investigation?

Fine. Everything is done by the book and according to high standards of ethics.

What a contrast with the Republicans whose first concern is to muzzle the ethics committee.

Ditto candide what a difference an election makes I’m sure the president is an open book for the investigation that’s how you act when you have nothing to hide
