Major repairs to Laksi-Don Mueang local road from January 25th

The Italian-Thai Development Corporation will begin major roadworks on the local road between Laksi and Don Mueang on January 25th. The work is to repair the undulating road surface, which has been a constant cause of complaints from motorists.

LPG price to rise to 423 baht for a 15kg cylinder in March

Thailand’s National Energy Policy Committee (NEPC) has decided to increase the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in March by 15 baht, to 423 baht for a 15kg cylinder, Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow said today (Friday).

41 suspects, including alleged Chinese crime boss, indicted on multiple charges

A Chinese national accused of being the leader of various Chinese triads operating in Thailand has been indicted on multiple charges. Chaiyanat Kornchayanant is one of 41 people indicted on charges that include drug trafficking and money laundering. Several of his fellow suspects are also Chinese nationals, according to a Thai PBS World report.

Southern Thailand to be hit by heavy rainfall from today until Wednesday

A total of 11 provinces in the south of the country can expect “some very heavy rain” from today and lasting until next Wednesday. That’s the forecast from the Thai Meteorological Department, with additional warnings of potential flash floods and river overflows. The conditions are the result of the strong north-easterly monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the south.

Three insurgents killed in clash with Thai government forces in Narathiwat

Three southern insurgents were shot dead during a clash with government security forces, in the mountains of Si Sakhon district in the restive southern province of Narathiwat, on Friday morning. The security forces suffered no casualties.
