The Pattaya deputy mayor was confident that the unfinished football stadium project, which had consumed a whopping budget of several millions of baht, would be completed in 2025.

Manoch Nongyai said the reason the project was still incomplete was because the project contractor had run into a geographical problem and subsequently left the job.

Pattaya City fined the contractor 80 million baht for causing damages to the project and was fighting in court with the contractor to get more compensation of 61 million baht.

What is a geographical problem affecting a building construction? Why would cause the Contractor to abandon such a major project and knowing he would be sued for damages. Far more to this story than the meek reporting indicates.

Geographical would suggest the stadium has been built in the wrong place.....   oops

Whoopee! Spend hundreds of millions on a sports stadium instead of stuff like major works on the shocking drainage, ocean outfalls, ugly and dangerous street wiring .... Just another opiate effort by those who hold the power in society doling out some 'opium for the masses' as Marx described.

Gotta keep those pesky proletariate quiet at any costs, so the grift can continue unabated.

Seems I woke up on the activist/cynic side of the bed today. Need to go practice some putting to calm the mind and return to a more Zen state.

Most probably the Contractor reached the quoted price for the Job, and would never take a loss.

Wasn't this the place that came in rather handy for mass Covid vaccinations? Been under construction a long long time, like the Beach Rd paving!

No wrong stadium. That was at the old Eastern stadium about a km from there.

Well another seems superfluous... are they perhaps expecting another pandemic, an even bigger one!! I do hope not

They have been building it for at least 5 years now, I can see it from my house. They stopped work on it 2 years ago although the access road was completed for the stray dogs to access the place and the boy racers to race up.
