Drivers Warned of Increased Fine for Failure to Stop for Pedestrians at Crosswalks

BANGKOK, (TNA) – Motorists who fail to stop their vehicles for pedestrians at zebra crossings face a maximum fine of 4,000 baht and have one point deducted from their driving license immediately under the new law.

WITH Cambodia having changed the name of kickboxing from Muay Thai to Kun Khmer at the 32nd SEA Games it is hosting in May this year, the Thai SEA Games committee warned that any country sending boxers to participate in Kun Khmer matches could be barred from other big competitions, TV Channel 7 said.

Chartered Bank House, New Landmark in Phuket Town, to Open Next Month

48-year-old Neil Giblin was a popular, respected and well-liked diving instructor on the once-in-vogue tourist island of Ko Tao. His sudden death, last Wednesday, has again sparked speculation about the island linked forever with the horrific murder of young UK tourists Hannah Witheridge and David Miller there in September 2014 (inset left) and a long list of sudden deaths and suicides questioned by the families of those involved living outside Thailand.

Thai Car Production Up 2.75% Year-On-Year in December 2022

The Tourism Authority of Thailand says Phuket generated at least 2.6 billion baht in tourism revenue during the recent Chinese New Year holiday. This will come as a much-needed boost for the island’s recovering tourism sector, which was crippled by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Air quality in Bangkok and 6 northern provinces to worsen Friday-Saturday
