Fake cosmetics from China worth ฿14m seized in Bangkok and Samut Prakan

Police from Thailand’s Consumer Protection Division (CPD) seized fake cosmetics and substandard medical supplies today (Monday), worth about 14 million baht, in raids on two locations in Bangkok’s Prawet District and in Samut Prakan province.

Minor earthquake felt in Phang-nga Monday afternoon, no damage

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake was reported in Kapong district of Thailand’s southern province of Phang-nga this afternoon (Monday), but there have been no reports of damage or casualties.

Police investigating a case of illegal detention in Chachoengsao

Police in Thailand’s eastern province of Chachoengsao are investigating a complaint, filed by a 67-year-old man who claims he was illegally detained and drugged by his own son and daughter-in-law for about two years and had his assets, worth about 100 million baht, stolen by them.

Rama 9 housing project engineer faces legal action over collapse

The Huai Khwang district office has ordered the construction of a housing project in the Rama 9 area to be suspended for 30 days and has prevented all unauthorised access to a building which collapsed yesterday afternoon (Sunday), injuring five workers.

Lost French tourists rescued safely from Phuket’s Nai Thon hills

On Sunday night, two French tourists were lost on the hills above Nai Thon beach in Tambon Sakhu of Thalang district, on the north-west coast of the island, near the airport. They called for help around 10pm and reported that they were lost in a forested area. A search team was formed consisting of local officials, police, rangers and villagers, who began their search right away.

1,900 Chinese Flights Set to Land in Thailand as Chinese Tourists Begin to Return in Large Numbers

Thailand is expecting a large influx of Chinese tourists with the arrival of 1,910 flights from China and an additional 6,318 flight requests for the period from February 13th to 19th, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).
