By Tanakorn Panyadee

Thailand is set to host the two-week-long war games of Cobra Gold 2023, starting on February 27th, with over 7,000 military personnel from 30 countries, including the United States, in attendance.

The United States will send its largest number of troops in ten years of around 6,000 personnel to participate in the annual Indo-Pacific region’s largest combined military exercise to commemorate the U.S. and Thailand’s 190th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

This year’s drills will take place from February 27th to March 10th, in the Thai provinces of Lop Buri, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, and Rayong, the army’s chief-of-staff, General Thitichai Tianthong told a press conference on Tuesday, February 14th. The conference was also attended by the US Ambassador to Thailand, Robert F Godec.

The ladies of the night will be girding their loins in anticipation...

As with all military drills, america will showcase some outdated gear and flog it at discounted price.
Somehow I dont feel those record 6k american troops have anything to do with diplomatic ties, but with taiwan and making utapao and seaports back the usa base.
The next year cobra will be even bigger

If that amount is soldiers then the numbers will increase greatly with the USN and support ships in port.

Don’t forget to put a  helmet on that soldier, trooper! ????

Cue the obligatory picture of soldiers drinking snake blood .

Why do the Thais always insist on doing that goofy looking "arm in arm" with others as depicted in the photo?

No, they didn't. They held their own but thousands of their lives were lost.

How did Russia do against them a number of years ago? Russia left with a wimper.

How is Russia doing against "weak and undermanned" Ukraine? They are losing.

How is China doing against any strong country? Oh, wait, they never had the balls to challenge a strong country. They just like to bully the weak countries of Southeast Asia that have no way to stand up for themselves. That's why Philippines is inviting the US back to rebuild military bases there.

What are you talking about?   Compare America to Iraq.   Go live in Iraq!!!!!!!  When you are in trouble, call on Iraq.   Compare literally every metric Iraq versus America.   Iraq would lose on every single one.

Don't be sooooo salty Thailand didn't even CONSIDER asking your country for anything, not one thing, probably never heard of your country and on a map it's blacked out with ????????

Facts are facts.     Don't worry, maybe Taiwan will call on your country...... NOT

That’s old school. You would be surprised how many gays are around these days. They are everywhere.

I remember 30+ years ago, when all those inter-provincial coaches were full with staff from Patpong, Cowboy and Nana.

They ran - physically - from the beach into the sea to welcome the over_orny service men.

The only difference to today might be, that some coaches will carry some male service staff - in addition to all the variations of genderism in between ???? The MPs will be strolling the roads and Sois of ill repute to protect the image of Uncle Sam's boys while the latter will burn fistfuls of green back.

Do those alien actually also need a work permit when exercising the defense against those war mongering Khmer or those agressive North Koreans arriving by the sea?

I cannot find a complete list of all the countries, but for reference (which includes China):-

"Cobra Gold Exercise 2023 will be back to full strength this year......................................This year’s exercises will involve a field training exercise and command post exercise, as well as training in cyber warfare, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and – for the first time – space operations............... seven nations – Thailand, the U.S., Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia – will participate in the main war exercises, while three others – China, Australia, and India – will take part in humanitarian aid exercises. The remainder will merely take part as observers"

China - Taiwan??

Space operations - balloons??

The cult-like character to extend mindless romance and championing towards all things militarism is rather macabre and pathetic. Something terribly evil regarding this mindset.

Yeah, educate yourself on spelling things!  :giggle:

Afghanis managed to milk the USA for $$$ billions of aid over 20 years and, on top of that, came away with $$$ billions worth of USA military equipment after the Americans finally gave up and scurried away.

The Americans ran - did not walk - out of Vietnam after having their a*sses handed to them despite their many years of committing atrocities - in the name of "American Exceptionalism".  :whistling:

And now the USA cannot even defend its own border with Mexico.  :cheesy:

Must be a lot of American supplied kit needs fixing!

And how many "strong countries" has the US challenged in the last 50-60 years? Iraq, Afghanistan, Panama, Ecuador, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam (got their <deleted> kicked), Dominican Republic, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan....

Not many superpowers in that list are there?  Seems America just likes to bully the weak countries of Southeast Asia, Central America and the Middle East.

You said all countries rely on the US. They don't, you are wrong, so stop trying to deflect to other countries.

There is no such thing as a "Tactical Retreat" It is only a term to give Americans solace. They lost and had to run away.
