Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha spoke to the press at the house of parliament, Fabuary 16, 2023

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha indicated for the first time on Thursday that he will dissolve the House before it completes its current term in late March.

“I have a date in mind already,” he said, but declined to elaborate.

Prayut was speaking to reporters at the end of the two-day House debate, during which he became a focus of a brutal assault by opposition MPs.

Prayut refused to say whether he will dissolve the House in early March, as is widely speculated. “I still need to make a final decision and some preparations,” he said.

A few days before the 23rd of March???? Than the EC has no problem too with organizing the elections...

Haven't check the new Constitution but the previous 2007 Constitution required the EC to prepare an election within 60 days of dissolution of the House. Seeing as the EC serves all year, March or April is likely for elections.

Why disolve the house if elections are forthcoming?

Dissolution of a legislative assembly (or parliament) is the mandatory simultaneous resignation of all of its members, in anticipation that a successive legislative assembly will reconvene later with possibly different members. In a democracy, the new assembly is chosen by a general election.

The nation needs to figure out a way to dissolve the senate, and get rid of the super corrupt army appointed senators. Until that happens, there is little hope for the future.

There's something else that has to happen, firstly.

But it's not needed is what I am saying. That would be like POTUS or the PM in the UK dissolving the entire house, senate and Parliament. It leaves a void and places Prayut in a caretaker position to do as he wants.
