Florida couple unable to get abortion will see baby die after delivery

In a few weeks, a Florida couple will have to bid farewell to their child shortly after the baby is delivered, a gut-wrenching reality created by the US supreme court’s elimination of nationwide abortion rights last year.

Because of a new Florida law that bans abortion after 15 weeks except under certain circumstances, Deborah Dorbert has become one of many women having difficulty accessing necessary abortion procedures after the supreme court overturned the rights granted by the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade decision.

A report by the Washington Post chronicles how Dorbert and her husband, Lee Dorbert, are expecting their second child and have been told by doctors that the baby has been diagnosed with a fatal fetal abnormality known as Potter syndrome.

How does this make you feel DeSantis? Specially since you want to sign a six-week abortion ban if one passed.

“It makes me angry, for politicians to decide what’s best for my health,” Deborah Dorbert told the Washington Post. “We would do anything to have this baby.”

“We have never really understood,” Lee Dorbert said, adding: “We were told there was an exception … Obviously, [it’s] not enough of an exception in some cases.”

Obscenity, right there.

It appears that unless there is court intervention , nature will decide the baby’s course!

Im all for that in this unusual case!

The family also can travel to less restrictive states to end the life of their baby!
A google search will show there are numerous efforts underway by abortion advocates to find funding for expenses for people who wish to have this done!

Take it up with the WP  or the technician in the hospital! They didn’t describe there is the fetus head or hands!

“The technician slid her wand across Deborah’s swelling abdomen, calling out the baby’s features so that Kaiden could follow along on the black-and-white screen: There’s the baby’s head. There are the hands”.

And that's what happens when religious bigotry imposes its moral code on everyone.

A very, very difficult and heart-wrenching situation.  Many years ago, one of my kids and his wife had a baby born in a similar situation.  The type of tests that would have caught this were not routinely done.

Living in Thailand, I wasn't privy to everything, but I know the baby was born and lived for a matter of a few hours.   It took a horrible toll on them.   My Daughter-in-law eventually got pregnant again and they did DNA tests and the fetus was healthy.   She's now a 21 year old University student.

They shouldn't have to, it's disgusting. If a foetus is not viable or even if it will be severely disabled, leading to a life of misery for everyone the mother should have an absolute right to decide to give birth or not. The religious nut jobs should butt out. It's not their baby.

the second amendment...! how many people are shot and murdered every day in the most powerful country in the world? yet, even  in this extreme case, abortion is considered murder
