Crime Tourist Police Bust Online Gambling Ring “Asha123” in Bang Saen
Picture courtesy of ที่นี่ พัทยา In a crackdown on cybercrime, The Tourist Police Bureau has dismantled a large-scale illegal online gambling operation under the website asha123, following a comprehensive investigation under the national anti-cybercrime policy spearheaded by Police General Kittirat Phanpet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police. Acting on directives from Lieutenant General Saksira Phueka-am, Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau and other senior officials including Police Major General Pongsayam Meekhanthong, Police Major General Krit Warit, and Police Major General M.L. Santhikorn Worawan, the investigation unit arrested two Thai nationals alleged to be key administrators of the gambling platform. Arrested Suspects • Mr. Jirawat 29 • Mr. Tharathep 28 Both were charged with jointly organising and promoting illegal online gambling via electronic media without authorisation. Police seized extensive evidence from the suspects’ residence in the Bang Saen area of Chonburi province, including: • 2 desktop computers • 1 laptop • 2 internet routers • 11 bank passbooks • 11 ATM cards (KBank) • 6 mobile phones • 32 SIM cards The raid followed a thorough investigation led by Police Colonel Man Rotthong, Superintendent of the Tourist Police Investigation Division, which uncovered the gambling website’s extensive offerings, including online casino games, football betting, slot machines, baccarat and other digital gambling content. The platform had been in operation for over two years, with a 24-hour support team that guided users through registration, gameplay, and withdrawals. Investigators tracked the two suspects who served as platform administrators, overseeing marketing, customer acquisition, and running paid online advertisements. Each reportedly earned a monthly salary between 20,000 and 30,000 baht. Following their arrests, both men admitted to their roles in managing and promoting the platform. They have been formally charged under anti-gambling laws, specifically for organising and publicising unauthorised online gambling activities. The suspects, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Saensuk Police Station for prosecution. Authorities confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, with efforts underway to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the wider network. Slow Wise transfers
From my normal bank account in the Netherlands.. I did a similar transfer with Remitly and it arrived instantly.. so the problem is between Wise and Bangkokbank.. the transfer of 30 May Wise claimed that banks did not work these days, but the Remitly transfer I did was on Sunday 1 June and arrive din seconds.. Just to say that I am convinced that Wise is withholding it to make profit of it... Believe me I worked in a bank in my country for more than 26 years... -

Community Royal Thai Navy Tests Readiness of Peacekeeping Force, Amid National Security Concerns
Perhaps they simply fear such acts rather than there being many examples of such. Don't expect Cambodians here would put their employment at risk by misbehaving, and would rather keep their heads down. My pool boy is behaving himself! -
