Russian tourists are fleeing to Thailand to escape the war in Ukraine or look to move to the Southeast Asian country.

Thailand has become a haven for Russian visitors who are looking to escape Moscow’s war in Ukraine that has now entered its second year.

Visitors are in Thailand but are they fleeing Russia too. Now thousands of Russians are looking for a new home, fearing economic woes in Russia and a military draft because of the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine.

Funny - fleeing the draft? you think they won't be arrested if they go back? and they have Thai long term visas if they are of draft age?  you need to think a bit before posting.

What I find more amusing is you don't seem to be aware of what the drafting age is in Russia and that they are snapping of property in Phuket, over 40% of condos purchases are from Russians.

How can one tyrant with a Napoleonic madness of grandeur ruin the lives of so many millions of people who doesn't really care about having Ukraine or Carmia nor any other part of the world as part or greater Russia?

They did this years ago and then the Ruble fell sharply. Then not everyone could pay for their condominiums anymore. Maybe they will have better luck this time.

Russians now forcing out the locals who can't afford to live on their own native island. Just like what the Chinese did in Cambodia.

Unless they already received draft papers they are unlikely to be arrested on return. 50k baht a year will get them an ED visa extended  every 3 months.

If they are draft dodgers they can never return to Russia - fleeing what? you have not seen the huge rallies in Russia supporting the campaign because no one reports them. What visa would they get in Thailand if they are young enough to be conscripted?  they would only get tourists visas then where will they go?  it's nonsense.
