snoop1130 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 An allegedly speeding motorcyclist rear-ended a pickup at 2 AM yesterday morning. The man suffered serious head injuries. CCTV footage captured the victim, 29-year-old Mr. Phairot Pattheeta, ramming into the back of a parked pickup truck on Pattaya’s Sukhumvit Road inbound to the Sattahip district on Thursday, March 2nd. The victim appeared to be driving at high speed, so he could not make an emergency stop, according to the recording. The man was rushed to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital by Sawang Boriboon rescue workers. He suffered large head wounds and was receiving close medical attention. There was no report about the driver of a parked pickup that the victim crashed into. Can't make out if the truck had it's parking lights on (or hazard lights) ....and the photo may not reflect how well lit the area is. There is always the possibility the M/C rider was not paying attention, using his phone or such. Just a sad frequent event here. 1 1
Bangkok Barry Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Bearing in mind that on average two people an hour are killed on Thai roads, and 80% are motorcyclists, why is this one picked out as news? The rider was only injured. Maybe it's news because he wasn't killed. 1
