Passengers told to arrive early amid Suvarnabhumi security screening upgrade

Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport is urging passengers to allow extra time as the airport upgrades security screening at the departure terminal. According to a report from the National News Bureau of Thailand, some checkpoints are partially closed as a result of the renovation.

Thai soldiers given strict safety orders following more fatal attacks in South

Army personnel working in the southern province of Narathiwat have been told not to enter locations until they’ve been confirmed as safe, following a fatal attack on Friday. Two members of a bomb disposal squad were killed when the convoy they were travelling in was attacked by a southern insurgent IED.

According to data from the Deep South Watch, an independent organization that monitors the conflict in Thailand’s southern provinces, between 2004 and 2021, over 7,000 people have been killed and over 13,000 injured in the southern insurgency. The majority of the victims have been civilians, including teachers, religious leaders, and government officials.
