CD Collection For Sale or For Use As Loan Guarantee

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I am an American resident of Thailand.  I need to quickly raise 25,000 baht to purchase some BTC (using Coins.co.th), to send overseas as payment for the PIN code for a High Value ATM card that I am holding.

I'd like to borrow the money, using a collection of 200+ CDs as the loan guarantee.  If someone really wants to purchase the collection, they can do that as well.

Whoever wants them has to drive to my home address - which is within Sukhumvit Garden City Village, at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 79 - to pick them up.   I can send an annotated map by email.     I can be written to at <<<< Email removed as per forum rules >>>>

The first 20 CDs are as follows:

Aaron Neville            The Grand Tour                             1993                        A&M Records Inc.

Ally McBeal         Songs From AM feat Vonda Shepard      1997                  Sony Music

Amy Winehouse          Back to Black                                  2007                       Universal Island

Anggun                              Chryslis                                        2000                       Coiumbia / Sony Music

Atlanta Rhythm Section         The Best                               1991                       Polygram

Backstreet Boys                         Jive                                      1997                      Zomba Recording

Baha Men                        Who Let The Dogs Out                2000                      Edel Records

Big Head Todd and The Monsters        Sister Sweetly      1993                     Giant Records

Am I to assume your great uncle, who happens to be a Nigerian prince, is prepared to send you the PIN code, as soon as you send 25K baht, refundable of course, for express mail and customs duties?

Would anybody anywhere in this world pay 25,000 THB for a little CD collections? I have my doubt.

Why would you need to buy BTC in order to get a pin number for a card you already have? Receipe for disaster to say the least.

Was considering, but after seeing attached file has exactly the same list of 20 that are already in the original post, I've changed my mind. I have them on AppleMusic, it's just nicer to have physical CDs, even I never listen to them. Anyway - I'll pass.

I was always wondering what kind of people live in Siam Garden City (a posh Mubaan between BTS Onnut and Khlong Bangna Chin).

Now I have some idea....

C.Ds are a thing of the past, you would have difficulty giving them away for free

159 baht a month for a premium Spotify account.

25,000 baht us about 13 years of unlimited streaming.

Good luck.

I need this money quickly - paid to my TTB Thanachart bank account.     So - I need for someone to come to my home and pick up the CD collection (as collateral for the loan), and then give me the 25,000 baht to obtain the ATM Card PIN.  If everything works out , I will repay you 30,000 baht quickly, and you return the CR card collection.   If - for some reason - the ATM card DOESN'T WORK - then it will taker longer for me to repay the loan - and you have a HUGE CD card collection to tide you over, and give you confidence that you will get your money back.

All this either works out by close on Wednesday 15 March - or I give up, because I miss the date cut-off.   I need to send my home location info to anyone who will take the necessary action    - so I need them to write to me at

first result in google:
The average price of a used CD is
between $0.45 and $0.65 each.

Well, this may sound absurd, but I own about 8,000 CDs and still buy them (what can I say … I like the tangibility of them, and many are rare/collectible and have some value, and they make me happy). Still, THB 25,000 for 200 CDs comes out to 125 baht per CD, and as someone here pointed out, the average value of used CDs is a fraction of that. Good luck to the seller …

Obviously there are exceptions.

Recently I needed a "test CD". Surprisingly I still knew where to search for it in my apartment and I found it. ????

Vinyl outsold CD for the first time since 1987.

Still, I have hundreds of classic rock and jazz CDs and

I would never part with them.  Don't need no streaming service.

Shopee has a store selling secondhand CDs of US and UK artists @ 69฿ each and there’s one on Lazada selling similar @ 89฿.

Can we hear more about the "payment for the PIN code for a High Value ATM card" that you're holding?  Sounds like a really interesting story behind this.

Yes - this is the real discussion we want to have.

Maybe each of us should buy a CD for 100B and soon we will know everything.

OK - I'll start with the obvious classic in there - The BackStreet Boys

Also, if signed as a lot of mine are they are worth more than normal and more than that if rare. All mine are Thai though

Huh? I sold my CD collection ten years ago. Got around $200 for over 1,000 CD's. They are likely worth even less now.

Does anyone listen to them anymore? Does anyone watch DVD's anymore? I have thousands of them, I would sell, but I doubt anyone would want them.

Nigeria?
