Bangkok - Surat Thani

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the approximate driving time from Bangkok to Surat Thani is ?

Cheers

Totster

Hi Tots, depends on how fast you drive it but my speedy brother-in-law did it in about 8 hours. It is approx 660k. But 9 hours is more average.

I drove 3 days ago from the ferry pier at Don Sak up to Petchaburi. Got off the ferry at 12.30pm and was in my hotel in Petchaburi at 7.30pm, this included about an hours stopping off for breaks. I was driving rather fast, 120-160kmh where possible most of the way. Petchaburi is about 1 hour - 90 mins from Bangkok and Don Sak about 45 mins further than Surat Thani so your looking at about an extra 30 mins - 1 hour driving time Bangkok - Surat Thani I'd say.

You headed down this way? If you get a chance, pop over to Koh P and say Hi! :o

Planning on a visit to Samui later on in the year, and would like to pop over to Koh P (and definitely say Hi) at the same time, :o

Spot on with the timing 8-9 hours.

A good place to stop is the services at Chumphon for your second driving break

You mean that giant rest stop in the middle of the highway? Love that place, clean toilets :o
