Really ?

He was acquitted of all charges

Donald Trump has been acquitted of a single impeachment charge that he incited a mob to storm the US Capitol. So what did the president say prior to the violence?

Neither impeachment nor trial in the Senate are criminal processes. And one crucial way they differ is that the juries are not vetted and selected from a larger pool  to warrant their impartiality.

Yes they are political trials only and there are no criminal consequences to being convicted in the senate.

Good reason why the judge should deny bail.Trump is simply an idiot acting on his impulse and not listening to his legal advisers. This Mahattan case is low-level felony and his attempt to incite protest will have a huge bearing on whether bail will be granted for other more serious charges.

It is not illegal to "incite protest"

People have the right and freedom to protest about things they disagree with

Sorry mate, you so wrong. Depending on the jurisdiction, some or all types of incitement may be illegal. Even when harm may or may not have actually occurred, they are illegal under inchoate offense. Trump’s past history of incitements resulting in violence have a negative impact should he be investigated for incitement.

Protest is legal .

How can Trump suggestion to people to protest be illegal ?

Inciting violence is illegal , calling on people to protest isn't illegal

Seems that the US is heading for a crisis, and while Trump is not the cause, he may be the catalyst that starts it off.

IMO I don't think the anti Trumpers understand that he is a symbol of resistance to the Washington swamp, and just how much a large part of the US hates Washington.

You are right, but it's a pity they couldn't find a better role model. I mean, it's a very big country, and he is the best that can represent the Washington haters?

So you would consider that Trump telling "his supporters to start arming themselves for a civil war to overthrow the government" is illegal then?

Actually, I think this whole thing is overblown. It was one thing for Trump to call for a demonstration that was going to be "wild" when he was President. It's quite another thing now. For all the dire consequences predicted in the wake of the FBI's search of Mar y Lago, and the threats made by MAGA supporters, nothing consequential followed.

I do find  it rather difficult to follow these twitter posts

Did Trump say the sentance that you put in quotation marks ?

Did Trump say to "his supporters to start arming themselves for a civil war to overthrow the government"?

Just lock him up.

I am still surprised why he still is running around free. In any other country he would have been thrown into jail or executed because of treason.

Gee I thought the US was in N. America, not S. America!
