Trump’s chilling warning of what will happen after his indictment

Neither impeachment nor trial in the Senate are criminal processes. And one crucial way they differ is that the juries are not vetted and selected from a larger pool  to warrant their impartiality.

Yes they are political trials only and there are no criminal consequences to being convicted in the senate.

Just lock him up.   I am still surprised why he still is running around free. In any other country he would have been thrown into jail or executed because of treason.

Agree with all you have written but have a few remarks:   "He's a kind of terrorist now." Now? He crossed that line when attempting to perform a coup.   "He cares nothing abou

Must be another liberal opinion piece from the IUK.

He never called for violence!

“the leading 2024 Republican candidate for president has suggested that his supporters could respond to his election loss or potentially imminent indictments with violence”.

Here is another reporting from the same news company!

that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appeals to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.

Correct.

IMO the pro swamp media has done a classic hatchet job on him for daring to oppose their cosy club of drones.

Anyone not knowing the facts would think he was a really bad guy, but some of us can look at him objectively and see a flawed human that at least tried to do something to rescue the US from the Washington swamp.

Given by the millions that support him, a large part of the citizenry are also able to see through the propaganda.

If so, we know which side has the most guns, and are prepared to use them.

Seems that the US is heading for a crisis, and while Trump is not the cause, he may be the catalyst that starts it off.

IMO I don't think the anti Trumpers understand that he is a symbol of resistance to the Washington swamp, and just how much a large part of the US hates Washington.

IMO all the attacks on Trump are just an attempt to remove a thorn from the side of the Washington drones club, so they can get back to business as usual.

Put him in the same cell as Putin  and let them  <deleted> each other

Alternatively, the millions who support him have swallowed propaganda.

’Swamp Media’

Is that the media business currently in court face a $1.6 Billion law suit with everyone from presenters to executives admitting to telling lies?

The electorate removed Trump from office.

There are no ‘attacks on Trump’, he’s

under multiple criminal investigations for crimes he committed in plain sight.

The news on that from only gets better.

It's impressive how he fought the swamp by being pro-big business, i.e. by giving tax cuts to the rich.... not to mention his shameless nepotism.

Good reason why the judge should deny bail.Trump is simply an idiot acting on his impulse and not listening to his legal advisers. This Mahattan case is low-level felony and his attempt to incite protest will have a huge bearing on whether bail will be granted for other more serious charges.

It is not illegal to "incite protest"

People have the right and freedom to protest about things they disagree with

Sorry mate, you so wrong. Depending on the jurisdiction, some or all types of incitement may be illegal. Even when harm may or may not have actually occurred, they are illegal under inchoate offense. Trump’s past history of incitements resulting in violence have a negative impact should he be investigated for incitement.

Protest is legal .

How can Trump suggestion to people to protest be illegal ?

Inciting violence is illegal , calling on people to protest isn't illegal

You posted this "It is not illegal to "incite protest" and I replied within that legal context. Incite is a riot defination and calls for people to behave in a violent or illegal way.

In any case, Trump called for protest has meet with muted reactions from supporters with some of his ardent loyalists dismissing the idea as a waste of time. People are waking up to his antics and see him more as a liability to the party and to the country.

You are right, but it's a pity they couldn't find a better role model. I mean, it's a very big country, and he is the best that can represent the Washington haters?

But Trump IS business as usual! With his billionaire cabinet, billionaire donors, billionaire tax cuts, and so on.

??? You mean, people who support Trump have “the most guns” should they wish to overthrow another election that he loses? “More guns” than whom? The federal government (the real one, that is) has at its disposal, for instance, missiles it can send halfway around the world, land in a specified tent, and hit a camel in the butt (as George W. Bush famously said, making a sarcastic point). So you wanna tell me again about your assault rifle? Get real.

So you would consider that Trump telling "his supporters to start arming themselves for a civil war to overthrow the government" is illegal then?

Edited by LosLobo

Actually, I think this whole thing is overblown. It was one thing for Trump to call for a demonstration that was going to be "wild" when he was President. It's quite another thing now. For all the dire consequences predicted in the wake of the FBI's search of Mar y Lago, and the threats made by MAGA supporters, nothing consequential followed.

I do find  it rather difficult to follow these twitter posts

Did Trump say the sentance that you put in quotation marks ?

Did Trump say to "his supporters to start arming themselves for a civil war to overthrow the government"?

Benedict Donald trying to rally the confederate troops for a 1/6 redux.

BTW, tRump didn't explicitly "call for violence" on that occasion either.

If he is charged, and heaven forbid held in any form of custody the results could truly be alarming!

The orange tan will fade rapidly to a sort of lemon/beige mottling (the shade of the bottle of guava squash well past its best before date in my fridge).

The blonde combover, starved of hair products and sculptors will unravel, the ends straggling from his head, assuming the delightful hue of a nicotine stained white moustache on the upper lip of a heavy smoker.

Deprived of a diet of cheeseburgers, fries and diet coke his bowels will morph to jelly...

I really cannot go on, it is too terrible to contemplate!
