Father Threatens To Murder Daughter

On Monday night police from Soi 9 station were called to Soi Korpai following reports that a Thai man had threatened to kill his wife and had injured the couples’ five year old daughter.

When they arrived they found the young girl had suffered a gash to her throat, inflicted by a large knife. The man’s wife told police her 37-year-old husband had demanded money from her so he could go and purchase the illegal drug ya ba. When she refused, he allegedly grabbed his daughter and threatened to cut her throat unless his wife gave him money. She told him she didn’t have any, so in a rage he threw the knife at her and then allegedly threatened her and his daughter with further violence.

Fearing for her life the woman phoned police who arrived and arrested the man and charged him with malicious wounding. Sawang Boriboon Rescue volunteers also attended the scene and administered medical attention to the injured girl.
