A prominent Thai doctor is a suspect in a case surrounding a Chinese surrogacy gang, Nation Thailand reported yesterday. This news comes after police raided a five-storey building in Bangkok’s Silom area on Tuesday, and found that a gang of Chinese and Myanmar nationals were holding two Chinese men for ransom.

Police said the two victims were using the building to operate a surrogacy business for Chinese women. The gang had kidnapped them in Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district, in the Nong Prue sub-district, on March 20. Seven foreigners, including three Myanmar and four Chinese nationals, were initially charged with immigration offences. A Thai was charged with illegally allowing foreigners to stay in Thailand.

Four suspects surrendered themselves to police, including a prominent Thai physician who is reportedly related to a former Provincial Administration director-general.

womb(s) for rent became a big business in China as couples don't have time to have sex

What is 'womb for rent'?

It is a pejorative term that makes reference to surrogacy. Although it is commonly used, especially in the Internet in womb-for-rent ads, we do not recommend it to be used in any context.

Indeed, here in Thailand one would expect the "with sex" option to be somewhat cheaper, and more readily available..

Story is a bit confusing for me.  Daily there are movie storylines in Thailand.  How is the kidnapping related to the surrogacy?  Prominent Dr supervised or did these implants or something?  Most Thai people seem to respect these Chinese families who somehow got into this country in the last 50-75 years.   How far will this cleansing of china's influence in Thailand go?

Do you really think the Chinese of 50-75 years ago are any better than the latest arrivals? maybe they have hidden their past as how they were able to gain citizenship, rights of land ownership, businesses, the Chinese assimilate and destroy any non-Chinese culture they can influence

Confucism is the Han Chinese class system, still used under communism, men are treated at the top, women are treated as an underclass who should be subservient, this kind of system is why they will never accept a rules based order, where people are treated fairly, and why there is so much crime, corruption and entitlement, and now they have huge influence over Thailand in just 140 years of emigration, with a small minority of the population, but with 70-80% influence, unlucky for Thailand
