A group of tourists on a sightseeing tour around Phang Nga’s Similan Islands have been delighted by the sight of 50 Orcas, aka. killer whales. According to a Nation Thailand report, the Orcas were sighted about 10 minutes off the coast.

The tourists were on a boat trip in Phang Nga’s Mu Ko Similan National Park when they spotted the creatures frolicking in the water. The president of the Phang Nga Tourism Association, Lerdsak Pongklin, says their tour guide described his guests as “thrilled” as they watched the Orcas swim near their boat for about 10 minutes.

The Orca is the largest member of the dolphin family and is considered an apex predator, meaning it has no predators. Orcas are about 6 metres in length, weigh over a tonne, and are easily recognisable by their white and black bodies.
