It is suspected that the body had been there for three days during the Songkran Festival. On Monday, April 17, the first working day after the Songkran Holiday, a security guard detected an unpleasant smell emanating from a gap near the fence and noticed hundreds of flies gathering inside. The guard then reported the incident to officers at Bang Na Police Station who rushed to the scene. According to the police, the gap was about half a metre wide at the entrance of the MEA office.
