Thai man fined and sentenced to prison over craft beer review

 

A court in central Thailand fined a man 150,000 baht and handed him a six-month suspended prison sentence for posting a picture and review of a craft beer on Facebook. He paid an additional 150,000 baht to be released on bail.

NATIONAL Police Chief Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittipraphat said the wife of a deputy superintendent at a Ratchaburi police station has been arrested in the cyanide poisoning death of a young woman during Songkran festival, Matichon newspaper said.

An explosion caused by a gas leak at a popular Shabu restaurant in Thonglor 5, Sukhumvit Road, Klongton Nuea sub-district, Wattana district, Bangkok, has left a mother and son injured.

Taxi catches fire, driver and passenger escape

A taxi caught fire on April 25th, prompting the response of local authorities to the scene. The incident occurred on a road next to Khlong Song Khlong Luang canal, near Supalai Preemo village in Khlong Song sub-district, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani.

Thailand offers 11 billion baht subsidy for low-income electricity bills

The Thai government announced plans to allocate over 11 billion baht to support low-income earners with their electricity bills over the next four months, with the subsidy set to begin in May. However, the proposal needs to be reviewed and approved by the Election Commission (EC) before it becomes official.

First group of Thais evacuated from Sudan expected in Bangkok Thursday

The first group of Thai evacuees from Sudan is expected to arrive in Bangkok on a Royal Thai Air Force flight at about 10pm tomorrow (Thursday) night, according to Air Chief Marshal Alongkorn Vannarot, commander-in-chief of the RTAF.

The Thai Tourist Police arrested a woman for stealing money and assets from foreigners at Don Mueang International Airport and shopping malls in Bangkok. The officers also discovered 293 tablets of methamphetamine and 1.26 grammes of crystal meth at her accommodation.

Thailand Tourism Fee to be postponed until September

According to the Tourism and Sports Minister, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the starting date of the Thailand Tourism Fee (TTF) has been postponed from June to 1 September 2023 to ensure that the TTF system will operate smoothly, while discussions are continuing with airlines to determine the appropriate collection method, in accordance with the rules of the International Air Transport Association.
