Pattaya, Chonburi Province – On April 28th, 2023, a harrowing incident occurred at a shopping mall situated along Central Pattaya Road in Nongprue Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province.

At 16:30, Police Captain Ying Thanya Uthong, an investigating officer at the Pattaya City Police Station, was alerted about a tragic event involving a man who had fallen from a significant height, leading to his death.

Upon receiving the information, Police Captain Ying Thanya Uthong notified his supervisor, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanaphong Photi, the chief of Pattaya City Police Station, and headed to the scene with a team of investigators and rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya.

The team discovered the body of the deceased man, later identified as Mr. B., an 88-year-old German national, behind the mall's parking facility, reported Naew Na.

Mr. B, was found lying face down in a pool of blood, creating a shocking and distressing sight. Authorities secured the area and determined that the point of the fall was from the fourth-floor mezzanine of the building, approximately 15 meters high. A pair of flip-flops and a hat, thought to belong to the deceased, were collected as evidence.

Mr. Warachai Taphayai, a 40-year-old technician working at the shopping mall, informed the authorities that he was not aware of any witnesses to the fall.

He only became aware of the incident when someone informed him about an individual falling from the parking facility. Upon discovering the deceased's body on the ground below, he swiftly reported the incident to the authorities.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanaphong Photi directed the investigative officers to examine CCTV footage and interview nearby witnesses to establish the exact cause of the foreigner's fall.

Although suicide is currently suspected as the reason, the investigation is still underway.

Meanwhile, the body was handed over to rescue workers for transportation to the Police Hospital's Forensic Medicine Institute, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the definitive cause of death.

15m  is not very high at all,  however if your 88yrs old your bones are very fragile and break easily.

RIP old man.

At 88 the stairs going up may have worn him out. His choice and we'll never know the final reasons.

Barbiturates is a far better way to go out than this. Guaranteed success too.

Barbs are not easy to come by these days.......Not avalable in Thailand.....A deep deep dig into the internet might turn up a source...But you need to be very motivated...

You could land on someone else and kill them and there will be many other people to see the result , which could be distressing for them

Probably he picked the best one in that respect.... hardly ever anyone in there.
