Villagers in Prachinburi Province are suffering from an invasion of tens of thousands of scarabs, which have entered their homes and forced them to sleep outside in tents.

Mrs. Mayuree Pothikerd, who lives at a house in Ban Khok Chan, Lat Ta Khian Sub-district, Kabin Buri District, Prachin Buri Province, contacted local reporters to report the issue.

Every year, a swarm of scarabs takes up residence in her house, and despite efforts to clean, destroy, and use insecticides, the number of beetles continues to increase.

The scarab swarm season has arrived, and it is unclear why the beetles have chosen to live in this particular wooden house, reported INN.

These beetles are small, black, and have stiff wings. They tend to live in large groups in corners, clothing, and bedding. They usually appear at the beginning of the rainy season and remain in the area for one to two months before disappearing naturally.

Mrs. Mayuree said that neighboring households are also affected by the beetle swarm. Some even have to live in temples to avoid them.

Despite the use of insecticides and constant cleaning, the beetles keep coming. Residents have to sleep in tents to avoid the insects, which can be harmful to their health if they enter their ears.

Mrs. Mayuree also added that the appropriate amount of insecticide cannot be exceeded, as they have to stay and sleep in the house for a long time.
